About

My name is Eline “Jay” Nijdam and I make concept art and illustrations in digital and traditional media.

Animals, nature and folklore, as well as music, dance and performance artists, are my main sources of inspiration. When people see my work, I hope they can feel a sense of joy, peace and/or connection with it.

If I had to describe my art in two words, they would be movement and detail
On the one hand, I endeavour to express life and energy in my art by conveying movement. If you’ve seen my personal work and sketches, you’ll know that I love flowing lines and dynamic shapes.
On the other hand, I am a stickler for detail. I want my drawings and designs to make sense. This means researching parts that I am unfamiliar with until I understand their meaning or how they work. This exploration phase is the most time-consuming but it is also the part of the process I enjoy most!

When I’m not making art, I enjoy reading books/manga/webcomics, watching movies, museums, walks, baking, and playing Ghost of Tsushima.
